“More Than Sum” was written by frontman Will Baumgartner several years ago, and after honing his inspiration the song has new life and is ready to share with the world. A word from Will about the song:

“In its first incarnation, this one sounded a lot different: it sounded like an old Bo Diddley song with that elastic Calypso-inspired feel he used so much. This summer I got inspired to make it more of an in-your-face, old-school soul shouter--like something Sly and The Family Stone might've done. While the feel and chordal structure were transformed, the lyrics remained exactly the same, playing on the old phrase about something (or in this case, someone) being ‘more than the sum of its parts.’ In love and relationships, too many of us seem to think we can find the ‘perfect’ partner, and don’t have to ‘settle’ for anything ‘less’. This song asserts that real love is never achieved by those who ‘want a piece of you’ and like to ‘pick and choose’: genuine love is about loving the whole person, including the parts that don’t fit our preconceived notions of what that person ‘should’ be.”
